    Winter Project: Forestock Extension

Decided to greatly extend the forestock on one long range gun. Haven't shot it yet to see, but certainly changed the weight between front and rear bags.

Back in the day I shot him off a home-made bipod. This configuration put about 8 lbs on the rear bag, with rifle total weight at 42 lbs.

Then for several years now I've been using this first generation extension. Bag weight about the same, 8 lbs. and the total rifle weight at 41 lbs.

    To be continued........

The new generation extension changes the geometry dramatically. Bag weight is now 18 lbs. with total weight being 52 lbs.

Front three machine screws hold extension to stock and there are two holes so that the action bolts can be accessed without removing the extension from the stock.

I believe mine weighs in at around the 50# mark with the big ATACR and Sphur mount. But I do remember yours being lighter than mine when I shot yours. Extra weight is always a good thing with the Big Man Gun.
