Started loading some .44mag....ran out of boolits. So I started in on some .357mag. Tried out a new Lee trimmer with a trimmer die on my turret press. These things are slick. And fast! I trimmed 125 cases, all within .001", in only ten minutes. So much for the powered alternative.

In fact, I mostly reload my 9mm and 40 S&W calibers, but I have the idea to start reloading 7.62 X39. I've accumulated a lot of brass, and I want to try this as a containment project. It's probably not worth it, given the low price of the non-corrosive ones, but I also want to see if I can improve the intrinsic accuracy of this caliber compared to commercial ammunition.

note that I plan to use my own hi tek-coated cast bullets.

100rds of 45acp ready for the morning's match, first time out for me this year.
I should be loading some of the 223 I have itching to go, but going to bed soon sounds like a better idea.

Just saw your post...what trimmer and die are we talking about here? I know Lee makes the Zip Trim, but this arrangement sounds different.

Google Lee Quick Trim. It’s a press mounted trimmer, with either a hand crank or provisions for your cordless drill.

I de-capped and wet tumbled the 60 cases of 6.5CM that I shot yesterday. I then sized them and bumped the shoulder. I was very happy that the shoulders were all within .001" of each other (.001" to .002"). I manually trickled up with my chargemaster to get all of the charges very close to each other. Then I seated the 136gr Scenars all within .0005" of each other.

This batch has to be the best I've ever done. Talk about being consistent.

The Lee Deluxe trimmer with dies for the different calibers. Here's a picture with 4 different calibers set up on my 4 hole turret.

I have the dies for 6 calibers now.

I have the drill adapter for them, got a little cordless ryobi just for them...
Then I bought a whole nother trimming setup!

    I'm never happy.
