Its time to play: NAME THIS WILDCAT

So, picked up a P14 at Carman gunshow last fall, put a few rounds through it just to make sure it shot straight, all is well after a new firing pin.

Fast forward to today, 5 rounds in it hits the 200m gong 5 for 5. Last round felt a little stiff, punctured a primer, not a big deal. Inspected fired brass for the first time and noticed the shoulder difference. .303 Epps perhaps?
Rifle was fully stripped when first bought, no markings to indicate the work done on barrel, headspaced just fine on a field gauge.

Hoping for some input from more knowledgeable members than I, taking it for a chamber casting in a couple weeks. If it is an Epps, are those dies available?

Off the top of my head, yes that sure looks like 303 Epps.
I see dies at the gunshows quite often, I think all of them have been RCBS.
Actually, Dugald is the show where they usually are, one of the guys in the front corner against the far wall.

Sure looks Ackley’d, which is where Epps got the idea from.

Well it looks like I have absolutely no choice but to go to Dugald then, I'm sure my old lady will be tickled pink. Lol

So keep an eye out for RCBS dies, will do, thanks Rory.

That was the second somewhat mumbled response I got at the range earlier, something about a wacky Ackley chambering. Asked if he had more info, guy just shrugged and shuffled back to his shooting bench.

That guy probably did all the work on the rifle and loads you fired. Unhappy he let it go...

This makes it perform like a 308 Winchester doesn't it?
That's all the reason I need to leave the old girl as is, and just use a 308. Sorry if that sounds unadventurous.
But good luck OP with your acquisition.
