    Webley MK II Classification

So I recently acquired a Webley MK II revolver chambered in .455 but it didn't have papers with it but its very clear it is a MK II. Brought it to a verifier in my area and he says its classed prohib because it not an (approved) antique caliber and barrel 2-3mm to short, am I retarded or is he anything manufactured before 1898 that can discharge centre-fire cartridges, other than a handgun designed or adapted to discharge .32 Short Colt, .32 Long Colt, .32 Smith and Wesson, .32 Smith and Wesson Long, .32‑20 Winchester, .38 Smith and Wesson; .38 Short Colt, .38 Long Colt, .38-40 Winchester, .44‑40 Winchester, or .45 Colt cartridges are antique right?20190418_095030[1].jpg

    He's wrong. It is antique.
Why did you take it to a verifier?

    Good looking antique.
Your quote is correct, I have seen a number of ‘verified antiques’ with barrels far shorter than that. (Not a lawyer, verifier or cop FYI)

Brought it to a verifier because I have no paperwork and the barrel is under 4 1/4 inch so if it wasn't antique its automatic time in jail and I lose all my guns if I was ever stopped with it, I don't mind doing the time but losing all my guns is a different story

If you pm me your email, I can send you a pdf of the FRT record for the mk II that states they are all antique and has sub entries for the barrel length and caliber...

The FRT correctly states that all Mk. II Webleys are antique.
Your verifier needs to take the time to access his copy of the FRT.

Here's a question on the topic:
Can an antique status pistol be registered if someone wanted to?
Why does the rest of the country get first dibbs on half my income?

You can get a "it's an antique" letter from the RCMP. Occasionally I've seen Webley's for sale, with the letter. I have no idea how to go about getting such.

The Canadian Firearms Registry, in 2012, had

    Code:
    CLASS COUNT

    NOT APPLICABLE 13
    Antique 9
