    Ruger 10/22 TakeDown Stock Replacement

Hi everyone, Iíve been using a Ruger 10/22 takedown for a few years now for plinking, rabbit and grouse. Itís time I replace the stock with something more comfortable and substantial.

Iíve been doing some research, reviewing everything and Iíve found the stock Iím interested in. Itís a Hogue TakeDown Overmolded Stock in Ghillie Green. After visiting their site and not a reseller I noticed they make two styles, a thumb hole style and non thumb hole style found in the URLís below. Iím reaching out to the community wondering if anyone has used a Hogue stock or even a thumb hole style stock before. Iím a fairly big guy at 6í4Ē (not fat) and was wondering if the thumbhole may make it easier to bring such a small firearm to my shoulder or not. Also I donít use optics on my 10/22.

    Non Thumb hole stock:

    Thanks so much

I'm a big fan of pistol grips but whatever fits your hand better is obviously correct. I only use optics on long guns so your mileage will vary

Yes the Backpacker stock was my initial thought but I did get my hands on one and Iím a little tired of the plastic polymer feel which is why Iím so interested in the Hogue.
