    Indoor Fryer Experiment......

So here we go, much to the wife's horror. She who must be obeyed shut me down on a outdoor fryer for years, so I did a end run on her and this was waiting when we got back from Texas last night.

She has just gone out to get a nice bone in turkey breast, peanut oil and some marinate fixings for injecting. Cleaned everything and found my trusty injector, I think I will brine a whole turkey and then inject after this initial trial run. I will steam some chicken breasts with all the veggies for us also so I can preach the healthy angle....... LOL.

I need this to go just right and be ever so tasty, so she can relax about fryers incinerating your home all on their own because they are inherently evil. Will post inaugural image for better or worse.....

Well, the house still stands and although the bird looks icky, it was so moist, tender and tasty. My fuss ass wife and her BF decimated the poor thing, my choice of seasoning with big flakes and a little too long in the fryer contributed to the nuked appearance but still a success in taste.
I will do another tomorrow just to adjust time per pound and get ready for turkey time this Christmas. A 12lber in the fryer, 20 on the smoker and 24-26 in the oven. Yes our clan is large.....

That looks pretty damned good man. My wife is the exact opposite. All deep frying must be done outside with my propane burner and pot.

I wonder how it would have turned out if you had used an air fryer instead.

Air fryer? Like an oversized blow dryer? Where's the danger in that?

That's very nice of you to cook for your wife and her boyfriend.
