"...Guns kill many things..." Nonsense. A firearm is an inanimate object just like a teddy bear. Neither of 'em are capable of doing anything.
What the Nazi's did is irrelevant, when they took over Germany, they confiscated privately owned firearms, unless you were a Party member, of course.
While the Gun Control Act of 1968 has a bunch of clauses that were designed to harass the law abiding(like no more Lend/Lease act stuff allowed back in the U.S. and no more mail order firearms.) it was primarily a knee jerk reaction to the assassinations of both Kennedy's and Martin Luther King.
Sharia law doesn't apply anywhere in Canada.

Guns do kill, as a method, as do a myriad of other things, limited only by human imagination, Murder, like any other form of violence, pretty much requires sentience. The old adage that "guns don't kill people, people kill people", is really the expression that guns cannot and are not capable of committing murder. Gun control advocates target firearms as if guns possess the ability to commit murder, and that the presence of firearms some how influences people to commit murder.

Murder:Murder is the unlawful killing of another human without justification or valid excuse, especially the unlawful killing of another human with malice aforethought.
