Hunting season is here, looking to expand my pallet.

Hunting season has arrived and while I wait anxiously for Nov.4th I'm looking to expand my pallet in the wild game world. I've had

    Deer
    Moose
    Wood duck
    Coot (gross)
    Mallard
    Goose
    Grouse (delicious!)

I'd like to try other things that don't require alot of effort or investment.

Right now what's open in wmu 58

    Bear
    Geese
    Cackling geese
    Red fox
    Bullfrog
    Mourning doves
    Skunk

I've heard mourning dove can be pretty good.

Side note: what have you eaten that was good or gross

I didn't know you could shoot doves in Ontario. Interesting. I've never had one but I've heard they are good.

Geese of all kinds make the best jerky and sausage, but the best flying animal you can shoot is a sandhill crane.

And although you don't have them there, pronghorn or big horn sheep are some of the best eating animals around.

Just googled it. I imagine it's like coot since it eats fish and is a bottom dweller.

    Thanks but no thanks lol

Porcupine is good and don't take much hunting.
Wife cooked up a batch of fresh shot Canada geese for supper last eve that were delicious.
I see a moose roast that I assume will be supper this eve.
Wish we had bush bunny's around like when I was a kid cause they were excellent fare too.

Mmmm rabbit. I've had that before but never wild. I'll add it to the list.

Porcupine eh? Interesting. What's it like?

I'm curious what skunk would taste like...
And yet, after nearly 10 years of government by Stephen Harper and his anti-choice army, you can still get an abortion in Canada. At this point, the political right’s agenda is so well hidden Sherlock Holmes couldn’t find it with a Huawei P30 powered by a trillion Watsons.
