Hogue stocks are awesome on the 10/22
You know you are a real gunnut when you start practicing trigger control on power tools.

WWJMBD? What Would John Moses Browning Do?

    Naaa...
    But thanx Kevin M
I am almost finished making mine. Just got to stain it now. I am thinking about making it a deep walnut color...

    What do you guys think?
    Tactical enough?
P.S. I blame it all on fireball given me the idea for this. Damm he can cost you a lot of money to know him.

^You made it? If you did then all I can say is....not tactical enough needs more laser. Maybe a big knife in the buttstock cut out, lol.

I've puttered with wood a bit, but I haven't attempted a full stock yet...shaping the grip must be fun!
    Looks great man, wicked job!

Looks great, but not what I would generally consider tactical.

I think if you posted that with a group of less seasoned shooters then ourselves that it would be called a tacti-lol stock.

This is my version of a Tactical 10/22.

Short, bull barrel, threaded for .... accessories... simple lightweight optic, and a very good trigger pack. NO gimmicks.

No quad rails, dress up stocks, unreliable mags, etc that just turn a small gun that is great for run and gun into a fat whale.

I can see why people want to dress their 22's up to make them look like another gun, but in all honesty it only serves to add unnecessary weight and bulk to the rifle.

    Nice stock again though.

KevinM's low drag doctrine, and Satain's high speed laminate, Voila!:

Not terribly tactical...I've got grip tape on it, does that count?

Looks good to me. The choice of stock is less important then the whole construction of the gun in my opinion. The difference between a laminate like that and a rubberized like mine is nil for practical purposes. Choose what you like and what feels good to you, I personally like the grippy feel of the Houge stocks.

^ I actually don't like this stock for grip, no checkering=slipperier than...slippery stuff. Especially in the rain. It's a great weight, between the bull barrel and the laminate there is zero recoil, but the grip tape is a must IMO on smooth lacquered plywood.

Get yourself a checkering kit or slap on some decal grips

It can if you make room in the stock for it. If it wasn't for minimum overall length regulations, my bc folder would be fitted with a 14-16" bull barrel.
