    New wk180c version?

I never saw any post about it here or cgn, never looked too hard either, but it appears to be an updated 180c with(at least) a rear ar15 style charging handle, built in brass deflector, and a new handguard.

A few nice changes, I like mine especially since I replaced the trigger.

Personally I like the side charging handle better.

    That's not just a regular $15 cocking/charging handle, either, but a $100+ Raptor-looking one.

I wonder if their goal is to stay around $1000 still, or if they're throwing that goal out the window.

    More junk?

Don't the originals have lots of issues?

It's a little sad they gave in to the internet whiners on a couple things. The rear charging handle is the least ergonomic feature of the AR. But there was a steady stream of "but mud will get in" posts. It looks like the handguard is better in a lot of ways, but probably nonstandard now that the rail is higher.

There are a number of people who will hate on anything made in Canada for some reason. There were a few issues that were resolved. This is a small shop that went way out on a limb to make an affordable NR rifle. They work really well for most people. Complainers on the internet (who have probably never touched one) ruin everything.

Only with the OEM crappy handle, really.

As long as you have the Raptor-style with the big wing flippers, you can cock the thing pretty easily with your offhand without taking your control hand off the grip.

But the operators will still hate on it because it doesn't have a dust cover.

As for the side charger handle retention, I apply wheel bearing grease to the contact points inside the receiver and have had no galling issues.

But I imagine said operators don't use grease cuz all the mud that gets inside the receiver will stick to it.
