    Solderin LEDs to PCBs.

On the board I'm soldering, for the D1 through D36 or so, there is a round pad and a square pad. The LED has long and short legs and a flat spot on the LED to identify polarity.

But I don't know which goes into which. Anode into square or round? cathode into which?

    Anyone?

I do not believe there is a consistent convention, depends who created 1- the schematic and 2- the footprint.
Trace back to find a ground or power rail
