Keep your rhubarb. I’ll take a Saskatoon pie with a layer of raspberries on the top of the filling
In spite of all of man's grandiose achievements, he owes his continued existence to six inches of topsoil and the fact that it rains.

Well I see that most of you guys are civilized, I to have eaten lots of rubarb dipped in sugar. Saskatoon pie is also acceptable, don't see them mixing strawberrys in that do you.

I will likely never be disappointed by a pie since i stopped eating carbs.

But that said, i wasnt ever found of mixed-filling pies... unless they were intended to be that way: minced meat, tortierre, etc.

But to get truly hideous and offensive you have to skip over pie into things embedded into jello

Not a big fan of rhubarb pie, but I will eat one piece now and then. My Wife makes this type of blueberry pie with fresh picked blueberries where the blueberries in the pie are not cooked and man is it good stuff.

I guess I'm strange as I like rhubarb by itself and mixed with strawberries. Little bakery in Lougheed makes some excellent ones that even the picky half likes.

I found the secret to growing rhubarb. Years ago I bought an old home in a unincorporated area. My neighbour behind me was an older guy.
He was a good person but if he caught me in the back yard he would corner me and talk for ever. He was hard to get politely away from.
I built a shop on my property and equipped it with a lathe a welder an air compressor and a beer fridge. I spent most of my evenings out there doing something productive.
When I needed to empty my bladder I would got to our fence and pee through the pickets on his rhubarb.
One day he caught me in the back yard and said " I don't know what got into my rhubarb I have never seen it grow like that" " I don't know what I am going to do with it".
It was mid to probably early May and the rhubarb was huge it was around six feet tall with massive dark green leaves.

    Yes I'm an A##hole

I come home tonight, and out of the blue there's a rhubarb cake on the counter!
    What are the chances?

Oh yeah, my wife makes a rhubarb cake that I like, forgot about that.

She also makes a big container of rhubarb slush every spring that you keep in the freezer. You put a few scoops of slush in a glass add some vodka or gin and a bit of 7up and man you have a nice cool refreshing drink all summer long, way better than those over sweet coolers you buy at the liquor store.
