    Pie rant

What in the hell are bakeries doing. I have seen lots of rubarb pie with frikken strawberrys in them. Yuuuk, strawberrys are to be eaten fresh with cream. Keep them out of the bloody rubarb pie. My mother made the best rubarb pie back when I was a small lad, never had any stinkin strawberrys in those pies. Guess I will have to track down some of the real fixins next summer and bake my own proper rubarb pie. Rant off.

I had a great aunt that used to ruin rhubarb pie with strawberries.

I also remember growing up referring to rhubarb pie as "square berry" pie.

You guys are nuts. No wonder the liberals want to take your guns away.
I love rhubarb pie, and jam, but strubarb is by far superior.

I remember as a kid eating rhubard raw with a wax paper cone of white sugar to dip it in. I like my strawberries out of the rhubard pie as well.

We would just cut or break off a few stalks and dip in sugar as well.
Rhubarb crumble/pie/jam, mom would make it all. We had jars of the stuff all canned up for the winter. Some would get frozen for mid winter treats. I miss my mom.

Sweet rhubarb pie with a nicely glazed pie crust, is delicious once a year.
    But only once a year.

why does anybody in the city of Toronto need a rhubarb pie?
