preventable medical errors killed more than 30,000 Canadians in 2014, more than stroke, diabetes, kidney disease and Alzheimer’s, combined.
"It’s really, in approximate terms, equivalent to two 747s crashing every week,” said Dr. Peter Pisters, president and CEO of UHN. “If we were operating a public airline like that, we’d be shutting it down and regulating safety.”

Now why do you want to complicate things with facts....................SSSSSH the sheep are a asleep. When our friends south of us with the right to bear arms are in trouble, we Canadians don't stand a chance.

That's who the purchaser of record is for the ad. I'm pretty sure that isn't where the money is from.

    So what?

This isn’t about people getting killed.

It is about ensuring that you are not able to lawfully use, carry, or possess firearms - any firearms!

To show that men can travel to the moon and return, use the American experience.

To show that public safety isnít hurt by responsible individuals carrying to protect life, use the American experience.

I opted not to watch this morning's press conference for fear of breaking my TV. I know I'll get to read all about it later. So I decided to change the channel and hear Drew Carey invite audience members up on stage to play some stupid games to win prizes.

Wouldn't you know it, the very first ad played on the first commercial break starts with an ominous voice saying "semi-automatic weapons are killing Canadians!"

Now I can't hear that big wheel spinning anymore.

That doctor ego/god-playing, unreadable handwriting/shorthand, and outright criminal negligence has killed more people per year than guns have - and even one is too many.

When I worked in the insurance industry, part of my duties was sending Toronto-area-thick phonebook-sized piles of documents to lawyers for the negligence suits against doctors and hospitals. While I *shouldn't* go into further details, rest assured, doctors make life-harming mistakes regularly enough that doctors should be on shorter leashes - but aren't because they're seen as infallible until something egregious happens.

I'm sure @Rangebob - that skillful acquirer of statistics - may be able to provide numbers on this.
Between my wife the nurse and my father the medical business consultant, I know very much the same.
