I’ve got a 50’s era SA22 made in Belgium. It operates as flawlessly as its newer counterpart that was built in Japan in 2004. Very easy to break down & clean, and it sure is sweet. Back in the 70’s, my brother had one as well which he back packed around and it always amazed me (still does) how the rifle returned to set zero when he re-attached the barrel. You won’t have any issues, and I found the more you shoot it the smoother it gets. The only significant difference between the two is the Belgian has the scope mounted to the receiver, the newer one is drilled and tapped to have the scope mount to the barrel.

I pretty much never shoot my 10/22 because my other 22s are so much more accurate.

remember the Ruger is limited to a 10 round magazine, you can get a Chinese clone of the Browning, a Norinco JW20 for under $200

10rnds works fine for me. But thanks every one.

I think I decided to just use the browning as a ride to the range with a back pack setup.

And I will likely pick up a base Ruger 10/22 for myself to play with and experience modding. I like to tinker.
