I love my F150 with the V8 but if I could get a heavy duty truck built anyway I wanted it would be a Ford cab for comfort and a Cummins motor.

couple of days later, settling for an 03' RAM 2500 with the 5.7. A 5.9 cummins would have been ideal, but all the checkbox were checked, so might as well not let this one go...

When I was test driving a pile of used trucks a couple years back (wound up with 2012 Silverado), I found Ford had both the best and worst cabs going. Fully loaded crew cabs were amazing, a level of comfort I remember from the Cadillacs my grandfather used to drive in the late 80’s/early 90’s. Their ‘sport’ (or whatever they call their lowest trim package) on the other hand were absolutely terrible. I’ve ridden more comfortable 2x10’s on teeter totters....

True. A bare bones pickup with plain cloth interior used to be pretty nicely appointed and comfortable.

I miss the one piece bench in my 97 Chevy regular cab. Adjustment was near zero, but I could drive ten hours a day in that thing, no problem.
