Copy of FRT Firearms Reference Table circa 2017

CGNer Jayne, did an ATIP/FOI for the current FRT.

The RCMP sent him over 40,000 PDFs of FRTs, dated Oct 2017.

    https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/foru...my-ATI-request
    https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/foru...-download-here

It's obviously missing updates to old FRTs since 2017, and
missing new firearms given new FRTs after 2017.

e.g. max from Jayne's data is Firearms Reference No 179482.
Yet, not in Jayne's data are, by way of example,
    FRT #182762 (WK180-C, 2018/06/17)
    FRT #195456 (GSG-16, 2019/10/09)

    FRT Part 1, entries 3 - 31,464 (10,420 PDF files, 3.23GB)
    https://drive.google.com/open?id=1yH..._Mh2vP6bvJLOMh

    FRT Part 2, entries 31,474 - 80,133 (8,490 PDF files, 1.78GB)
    https://drive.google.com/open?id=11Y...Z1t5LiQ0yQ5bCP

    FRT Part 3, entries 80,151 - 130, 013 (13,330 PDF files, 2.26GB)
    https://drive.google.com/open?id=1w2...VDICGVQlvzI2sl

    FRT Part 4, entries 130,014 - 179,482 (8,915 PDF files, 1.05GB)
    https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ih..._SlS6FU84EwuVq

Another CGNer is creating a nice web based interface to lookup this information,
and CCFR will be hosting the files,
but for anyone who has downloaded the files and wants an Excel/TabSeparatedValues based index for the PDFs,
I wrote an index program, against the ~40,000 PDFs
    6,396,658 bytes.

Do you think there will be any changes to any current classifications with this new release?

    It's up.

    Performance is terrible.
Appears to be a list of FRT entries, organized alphabetically by manufacturer.
    No photographs.
There does not appear to be a search function. (Open PDF in Acrobat Reader, CTRL-F (search) works both up and down through all sections)
Difficult to use, compared with the standard FRT.

Valid as 2020/02/19; 98223 pages, searchable PDF

Access to the FRT for the public

Members of the public can view the Firearms Reference Table PDF - Firearms reference table, (250 MB). It is currently updated every two weeks. The date of the last update is referenced in the PDF.

    Please note the legal disclamer.

    Note
Policing agencies, public agents and firearm verifiers: Please use the online FRT and not the PDF to ensure you are accessing the most up-to-date information.

    Legal disclaimer for public use
The Firearms Reference Table (FRT) is not a legal instrument. The FRT is an administrative document created by the RCMP's firearms experts who have, based on criteria in the definitions found in section 84 of the Criminal Code and the supporting Regulations Prescribing Certain Firearms and other Weapons, Components and Parts of Weapons, Accessories, Cartridge Magazines, Ammunition and Projectiles as Prohibited or Restricted SOR/98-462, and the Firearms Act, conducted technical assessments of firearms to assist law enforcement officers, customs officers, and officials responsible for the regulation of firearms with the identification and classification of firearms. The aforementioned Acts and Regulations are the prevailing legal authority with respect to firearm classification.

I managed to get it downloaded, and uploaded it here. 192MB
    https://www.rangebob.com/Canada/Fire...t-traf-eng.pdf

I suggest using "Save As" rather than trying to open the link directly.

It uses a lot of CPU to open. I was unable to open it with a web browser. But I have Adobe Acrobat Reader on another computer that opens the file directly from the disk drive just fine.

The copy on my server is also now converted to allow cut/copy/paste.

Also altered the date in the name of PDF title:

    Firearms_Reference_Table_2020-02-19.pdf

The date reflects the date in the actual PDF file which says "Valid as of: 2020/02/19"
