Lesson learned and a happy ending.

I was recently the victim of an online purchase scam. And let me tell you, these guys are going to some extreme lengths nowadays.
After many conversations via email, text, and phone calls, I paid for and was expecting an M1 Garand to arrive at my door. It never did.
Phone calls were made to the bank and police and it's now in their hands. Hopefully it'll be a positive resolution.

Rather than admit defeat and say goodbye to my bucket list rifle I continued the search and karma was on my side.

Welcome home to my 1940 SA M1 Garand! And to the guy who's out there taking people's money...I hope that you get yours.

Oh wow! That's a beautiful rifle!!

Some things are just worth the effort. Well done checking that one off your list!

I finally got the chance to get her out and put some round through her. It was SO awesome! Functioned flawlessly and talk about accurate! I honestly wasn't expecting it to be as accurate as it was but I was super thrilled. And I have to admit it...I got some goosebumps shooting her. I wish it could talk...the stories it would have!

So this is another one you found and bought?
Your still out the coin for the first to the scammer?

I'm still out the coin...for now. It's in the hands of the police and the bank. From what I've been told, the chances are pretty high that I'll recover my funds but that could take quite some time.

If getting ripped off 50% of the time is a happy ending, you are a master of optimism.
Why does the rest of the country get first dibbs on half my income?

Nice find. Some of them can shoot. I hit a small 24" target at 500 yards 6 out of 8 times. A buddy owned it and did the load development, I just shot it.

No use in staying angry when there's nothing more that I can do about it is there?
