2020 camping season in the toilet?

We are seasonal campers for 5 months a year and are thinking this year is looking like a write off. We travel 4 hours each way and the grocery are not cheap in town when there is no crisis. The hot springs are closed now and who knows when they can reopen. Even the laundry mat is only allowing 2 users at a time. One other seasonal we know pulled the pin and the owner ordered him to remove his deck. It looks like they are trying to make a season of camping but for us were thinking it's a bust .

Yup I suspect camping will be out for many. My son and I were going to go hiking/tenting at Kejimkujik National Park this summer (would be our 3rd year in a row) but it doesn’t look like they will open this season. Maybe late summer but the sites will get snapped up faster than I can turn my computer on.

We spend a week in Algonquin every summer. This year, we have relatives coming from Germany to join us as they enjoy camping. We're not sure how that's going to play out either. The wife's afraid things won't be settled in time for her family members' visit.

We are in a similar boat. We spend a lot of time camping and AB Parks is already cancelling some bookings as well as closing some parks for early season access.

The only saving grace is that we bought 4 acres about 5 miles west of town at the reservoir. The pandemic might accelerate our building plans.

I’ll be taking the kid out to the farm and tenting it in the fields if we can’t get into any provincial/federal parks. We usually do it a half dozen times a summer anyway.

Unless they order us to stay indoors camping is not over. Maybe glamping but that's another story.

closing provincial and national parks will stop thousands from camping, not everyone has access to private land
