Read a recent article from survey author.

Proposed Canadian gun bill will create U.S.-style patchwork of firearms laws

Canadians have a lot to be proud of. A vast wilderness to protect and explore, universal health care, a historical record of peacekeeping and diplomacy, and most of all, according to many of us: not being American.

That last point seems to form the bedrock of our national identity. Canadians go to great lengths to distinguish ourselves from our southern neighbour. Thatís why it seems odd that the federal government is trying to bring American-style gun politics to Canada.

Is he saying that "not being American" is something to be proud of?

If so, I'm not going to waste a moment on him.

He has environmental factors working against him, even if he has good intentions. Ottawa, CBC, University, among them.

Does anyone else remember when Gordon Sinclair wrote a pro-American article back in 1973?

I do. This came out when I was about 17, and I never forgot it:

    Here's a written version: https://www.truthorfiction.com/gordonsinclair/

And here's a video... music is too loud, but worth the watch:

One of my brothers has this nasty Canadian habit of mocking Americans, and it's just embarrassing. Far too many Canadians do this, it's almost a national sport. I used to cringe everytime I saw Rick Mercer do his "Talking To Americans" schtick.

    It needs to stop.

Upper Canada was settled by the losers of the American Revolution. They're still sore about it. And they're still losers. See also Lower Canada for sore losers.
