And now for the rest of the story

    ya I got a list,,,

this one took me 12 years to scratch off

went to Tims one day to get a coffee and get $30 loaded on my gift card

lady swipes my debt for the $30,,, then swipes the gift card to add $30,,,

machine screws up,, nothing comes out,,, so she swipes the gift card again

she accidently put $60 on my card and only charged me $30,,, next time I used the card CA Ching $60

so I felt pretty good,, finally got free stuff,,

but as time went by I started to feel bad,, I took that $30 and it came out of her pay check,,

so I started looking for her at Tims,,, nope she mover stores

Well, there is pay it back, but there’s also pay it forward. Big wheel of karma is a circle, and as it spins, all points of view touch

I have to admit that I have a list too. Theres only one person on it. I worked with her for one summer at a nursery. One day we were all ordering Chinese and I didnt have any cash on me. She loaned me a little more than 5 bucks for mine (this was a long time ago). The next time I went to work, I found out she had quit and I never saw her again. That the only debt that I have never repaid and it bugs me to this day.

so one day a couple of weeks ago,,, I go to the bank ATM to get $50,, they made some kind of update,,, screen is hard to read

    I end up with 1 x 50 and 5 x 10,,, oh well

I spend the $10s on tickets and gas.. the $50 is in my wallet forgotten about

So we decide to got to Subway for a lunch sandwich,,, CLOSED,,, so we head over to the one on 58 st ,,, right across from the Tims

we get our sandwich,,, and who walks in,,, DING

I tell her the story about the $30 ,,, ask her forgiveness and give her the $50

she is speechless,,, the other customers give the thumbs up and big smiles

she is off my list,,, feels way good

    Feels great, doesn’t it Billy?
Couple of years ago when in Venice Florida I was in an ABC Liquor Store buying good Balvenie & Glenmorangie scotch to take back to Canada as it was half the price of Canadian prices. I had purchased 10 bottles and was talking to the sales lady while paying. When I got back to our condo, I found out she had only scanned 9 items. I went back the next day with the receipt and went to the till and explained what had happened and that I wished to pay for the 10th bottle. The look on the employees and other customers was incredulous, the lady at the till was so grateful. She said: “we’ve never had anyone do this”. I told them my dad taught me you “never take a dollar or anything you t didn’t earn, and you pay your debts”. On the way out of the store, another clerk said: “ you must be Canadian”. I smiled and said I was.
    Felt real good. Still does.

Edit: then in true Canadian fashion I smuggled the excess across the border. That felt good too!
