    Mogadishu themed build

So this won't be an exact clone and will take some liberties due to the impossibility to get some parts up here

We may not be able to ever shoot them, but at least I can build it in the hopes that someday the Government will be changed!

This is what I'm starting with.

    Aero Lower, it works.
    Surplus Canadian C8 Upper
    Aimpoint Pro
True North Arms Fake Suppressor with Linear Compensator

    Not Shown:
    Streamlight Pro Tac Light

So in essence I'll be building the theme of the bottom rifle shown in this picture. Otherwise known as the "Gordon" Rifle from the movie "Black Hawk Down".

So the next step will be to paint the rifle. I couldn't find the exact color of Tan, never thought it would be this hard, so it will be a slightly different color. But like I said, it's a theme build and not a clone.

This channel reviewed a clone that they built. It's a sweet rifle

So far I have to say the nicest thing about this is not having to worry about the paint being 100% perfect. I'm trying to match the level these guys would have used, which is nothing more than a rattle can. I also want to try and get the "used" and "battle worn" feel to it although sadly, I can't use the stupid thing because of our "glorious leader".....

Here is the base layer. I'm trying to give it a distressed and dirty look to it, the type of paint job that a Delta would give their rifle on the tarmac once they got in country sort of thing. Hard to tell from this picture but it turned out really bright. The next step will be some dark brown splashes to it to break up the light tan.

Funny little fact, the closeup of the rifle they point to is actually the rubber prop rifle of an M4A1, you can tell because you can see the removable carrying handle.

with the dark brown added. I did really light splashes of dark brown onto the tan as well to darken it a bit and give it more of a dirty look. I still don't have the flashlight mounted as it's not going easy. The original rifles simply had a flash light zip tied and duct taped to the rifle.

So use a zip tie and duct tape like they did. Don't overthink it.

I tried that but I'm not happy on how it turned out. Looks too bulky. Might need a different light.
