    AaaannnnnyyyyWay.

Is there any reason in particular a center fire scope wouldnt work for a rimfire? Id like to put at least a 12X on my 8M; so that at 100 yards and better I can actually see the damned bullet hole. Suggestions?

Not at all, Just look for scope with AO to focus from short to long range, I used to run the zeiss conquest line up mainly in 4-14 & 6.5-20 powers but had an erector issue and switched everything over to vortex mainly for there warranty, I hate shipping off and waiting for a new one to arrive.

Wholllyyy.... You got expensive tastes. I might spend that on the Tikka, not sure if I would go that crazy on the TOZ8M.

I scooped a used Bushnell 4x....12? for a hundred bucks shipped, works great for benching rimfire at 100yrds, but you get what you pay for, I can't see the holes at 200, and the depth of focus is paper thin at that range, with blurry edges...for what I'm doing I'd get it again though.

How about JustBen's Bushnell 3x9 in the Optics Marketplace?

Originally, it was going to go on my wife's .17 HMR, but I ran into a nice Sightron, and she liked it too much.

If it doesn't sell, I'm sure I'll find a 22 to put it on. I haven't shot it, so I can't even comment about how good or bad it is.

One word of caution on high powered scopes on 22LR rifles is that you need to know your distance and drop. Nothing worse than not knowing where you are shooting because you can't see the bullet impact outside of your scope picture. That's the problem I had when I mounted an old 30x Tasco on my SR-22. It also looked silly. I doubt you'd have these problems if you stay under 15x or so.

    ammo?

Buy the match stuff if u want small groups.

This is the biggest factor in a .22 second would be bedding.

Both are cheap and easy. Just the way I like em.
You may not like guns, and choose not to own one. That is your right. You may not believe in God. That is your choice. However, if someone breaks into your home, the first 2 things you are gonna do are 1) Call someone with a gun, and 2) Pray that they arrive quick enough to save you.

My 10/22 has opened up to 4-5" at 100 yards. The crown is getting really shot out. Will need to either work on that, or better yet find a heavy barrel, which hasn't been easy, for me at least, to find.

What barrel brand are you thinking about? A Green Mountain, perhaps?

I've heard that the chamber design also helps accuracy - but not necessarily with match ammo. Isn't it Dlask that makes a barrel that actually prefers cheap bulk ammo for accuracy?
