So full retail is half again what the Black Friday price was? Not really much of a comparison.

Not a great comparison, originally ordered AE 223 is about $730-750 in most places, so a 13% increase from a 4yr old black friday deal
AE 556 for whatever reason is in the $800+ range

    I didn't have a 9mm back when a case was under $300, I really missed out

This just in: ammo is more expensive now than it was in 2018.
Why does the rest of the country get first dibbs on half my income?

I bought a thousand rounds of Federal mid-March last year, so I checked the bill from that transaction. $479.
    To reiterate, March 19, 2020:

    AE223BK, case of 1000m $479.95
CCI Blazer 124 FMJ, case of 1000, $479.90

I'm shocked! well not that shocked.

It was non sale price I purchased in January my most recent 500ct bulk pack of surplus Federal 7.62 Nato for 600 before taxes and shipping versus the 500 when I purchased a Federal bulk pack in mid 2020

It feels weird how I didn't buy any ammunition in the past 4 years (just components).

I'm taking a bunch of guys who want to get into shooting to the range and trying to explain ammunition costs to them.

My initial impulse is to say to them: "Where were you guys 4 years ago?"

Ive been trying to convince people to lay their hands on as many lead wheel weights as they could for about the last 15 years. Now theres a big influx (from what Ive seen lately) of people who want to start casting due to the high prices of components. Thats got people asking $4/lb for allegedly bullet grade lead ingots. There also wont be any new lead wheel weights coming into the country after next year. Thank god I was a hoarder before hoarding was cool. Lol.

I'm glad you got me into it BSD. I have about 200lbs of lead in the garage and one of my objectives in getting the range memberships I did is to dig up the dirt around our pistol bullet traps for the lead.

I got about 20-30 lbs last year.

If you spent $1000 on memberships like one of your posts indicated you actually paid $33 to $50 per pound for lead. More if you factor in gas to/from the range.
