Maybe that's what is needed to wake most Canadian sheeple out of their self induced apathy!

Just like a drug addict or alcoholic, you need to first hit rock bottom and basically lose everything you hold dear before they can see the error of their self indulgent and selfish ways and get them involved in politics and choosing a decent leader who is what's best for the country.

Sure it is going to be painful and costly for all of us but I'm almost sure that without a high amount of universal pain and suffering we are never going to get better anytime soon!
Warning! some sarcasm, facetious behavior, satire, irony, dry humor, playful banter and more may or may not be involved in my postings. Please read anything I have written as being said in the most joyful and happy voice you can imagine.

To whom it may concern: I hereby declare I am not responsible for the debts incurred by one Justin Trudeau!

That's a simple question with a simple answer. Electors had above-average intelligence to see through the usual election rhetoric. The federal party wanted a change from Andrew Scheer and the provincial party wanted tough love and common sense from Doug Ford. It's too bad the federal Liberals didn't have the same insight or JT wouldn't have been elected janitor.

... remember that to the hordes of immigrants (many now voting citizens) the LPC brought in Trudeau is a demigod second only to Allah and they will worship him at his political altar ... THE BALLOT BOX
... as far as guns go most of these immigrants were never allowed guns in their home countries so total Canadian civilian disarmament will not be a hard sell to them
... I hear rumors that Trudeau is thinking of bringing in 400K more immigrants to a country where the housing market is so inflated our kids will never pay off their mortgages in their lifetime
... in 5 years Canada will be a feudal state with the very rich on top being the only ones able to afford a home and the homeless serfs at the bottom of the standard of living hierarchy with no one in between

Any idea what the debts were?
    i.e. what's the current "war chest" ?
I vaguely recall that at the end of the 2019 election,
    • the Liberals had $10 million in campaign debt (newspaper) [$24.7 to $34 million loan (elections.ca)],
    • the Conservatives had some debt, which was paid off in summer 2020 [$23 million loan (elections.ca)], and
    • the NDP had $7 to $10 million in campaign debt. They paid off their debt in Dec 2020 [$14.5 million loan (elections.ca)]

In addition to paying off loans via contributions, elections canada also allows rebates. I don't know what the rebates are.

2015 the Conservatives spent $42 million, which is $12 million less than the $54 million cap allowed by elections Canada. Conservatives went into the election with $15 million, and topped that up with a $28 million loan, which has long been paid off.

    ... leadership vacuum
... in both cases there were no outstanding candidates so a default red tory got the job
... Doug Ford is a closet red tory and Erin O’Toole changes like the weather depending who he’s talking to ... under his skin I suspect O’Toole is as red as a beet
... like a creek run sockeye salmon Jason Kenney is getting redder every minute

"Conservative canadian politician" is about as common as the Northern White rhinoceros.

Don't worry, the CPC doesn't need stupid social (real) conservatives anyway.

I do wonder about a third party coming up the middle and making a difference after our last 14 months of BS.

The CPC had to clean house , and the dead weight got swept out the door . Politics 101 , and all political parties do it .
