That said, I hope Kenney stays. He has been a boon for the WIP specifically, and furthering the separatist movement generally. No single person, including the Turd, has done more for the WIP. That is the priority for all things political imo...AB removing itself from the Peoples Republic of Canuckistan.

When viewing strictly from the perspective of the UCP, I much prefer Jean to Kenney (and always have). He is still, however, a staunch federalist and will not do what is needed to save the province from the jackboot of confederation. I doubt he would be able to undo the damage done.
I thought Jean was open to separation? Maybe I read that wrong?

... to be fair the Manning Reform Party that spawned Kenneys political career was a federalist party
... there was no intention on their part to split Canada because there is really no need to do so
... there needs to be some constitutional/bna adjustments to add sufficient flexibility so the feds and provinces aren’t in each others faces
... for example there’s no reason why Quebec needs to be shoving their UK mode anti-gun crap down the throats of other provinces ... this goes for language and culture related laws as well
... like the United States each state/province can be its own “distinct society” without imposing their values on everyone else

The communist pain stick is a potent tool, and it will once again bring Alberta conservatives together under a common banner...this time it will be WIP.
This is why separating needs to be driven hard provincially and ignored federally. JT’s 50%+1 is what’s needed. So provincial election which is only way to force a referendum.

But beware the echo chambers everyone is putting themselves in. The people who don’t run hard Conservative aren’t any more stupid or misguided than the conservatives. They have reasons that make sense to them.

We will have to dig into it more. I have read comments from him over the last year that are in support of AB staying in confederation. He has not come out in support of AB independence that I can find. That said, it would be very good if one could find current comments from him on this subject. I could have it wrong as well.

... true there is an ideological bond between Notleys dippers and the socialist LPC/NDP "coalition" currently running the country
... another idea Notley & Trudeau no doubt share is the national civilian disarmament agenda
... but as far as resources are concerned Alberta is the "tit" that the rest of Canada will never let go of
... I don't even think most Albertans aka "the silent majority" would vote to separate in a binding referendum, the Wexit initiative if put to all Albertans in a democratic vote would fail
