I'm on the fence about O'Toole for another round.

More importantly is Conservatives fielding a conservative platform. Dumbest idea ever was attempting to out liberal the liberals. Fire that guy.

I hear you. Charitably the drift to centre was a campaign strategy – get elected then reaffirm conservative priorities. Didn't work. So now I'm awaiting a new authentic conservative strategy hence being on the fence.

I might be less pessimistic about 'his party' than you are even though I held my nose voting in this election.

... despite the chest thumping and faux American slogans liberal hearts beat in most Canadian chests
... the very thoughts of self reliance, being responsible for ones own actions and no nanny state social safety net are just too frightening to contemplate and wind up on ignore lists
... being a Liberal didn't cause O'Toole's defeat

The 3 guys in my deer hunting party all voted Bernier in the last CPC leadership convention.
After 2 dud leaders and 2 lost elections Bernier is looking much better.
Maybe Harper will take another run at it?
To say there is a conservative leadership vacuum is a gross understatement.
My personal choice as a federal Conservative candidate would be ex Ontario Premier Mike Harris.
Now there was a real blue conservative.

Harper lost for the same reason as Scheer and O’Toole.

Attempting to appeal to those who would never vote for him cost many votes.

Too many votes.

And voila, Daddy’s Little Nightmare is running the show!
