AbH's MRA Renegade Build In 7.62x39 with Load Development Thread

Hello there to all the members of GOC!!

Perhaps inspired by my quest to make ALL the Small Frame AR related parts useful, a good friend of mine asked if I could build him one in the useful caliber of 7.62x39 using the improved Gen 2 Renegade receiver set (the difference between the Genís being the addition of a bolt catch to the Gen 2 receivers.)

Additional details and specs can be seen here: MRA Renegade MK II Complete Upper Receiver Kit (Click the link if you would like to see more details)

However Before we proceed the following are just my thoughts and experiences working with the above mentioned. You may or may not agree with what I have to say, and I welcome comments and criticisms as long as the shared in a constructive well though out manor!!

With that out of the way, I have worked with the 7.62x39 previously and find it to be a useful and worth while caliber, so I was quite excited to get started. While not 100% completed, the following are the results of my labors and I felt we were at a stage where I could share some results.

    Carbine Specs as follows:
    • Landmine Linear Comp
    • 5/8x24 crush washer
    • MRA Gas port clamp (Gen2)
    • MRA 7.62x39 14.5" Barrel with bolt group with Enhanced 7.62x39 Firing, Cam & Cauter pins
    • MRA V2 M-LOK AR-15 Handguard - 13.5", Anodized Black
    • Magpul Moe Vertical grip
    • Bipod Adapter for M-LOK Handguards
    • MRA Carrier with side bolt handle with Additional Charging handle
    • LMT Tactical Fire control group
    • Norgon Ambi-Mag Release
    • Ambi Selector
    • Strike Industries Enhance Bolt Catch
    • LMT style Ergo Grip
    • Vltor Imod carbine stock black
    • Mil-spec carbine buffer tube with carbine spring & buffer
    • Titanium Lock Ring
    • CPD 7.62x39 Pistol mags

    Optics Package included:
    • Vortex Viper PST (Gen 2) 1-6x24
    • Vortex Precision Extended Cantilever Mount, 30mm, 20 Moa

Also made up some test loads as follows with CFE-Black

    Canadian BDX .311 123gr JSP

    Hornady 7.62x39 .310 123gr V-Max

Over all I am quite pleased how things have turned out and I look forward to testing this one.

Well that is all the results I have to share at this point!!

Thank you for taking the time to read my post and I will do my best to field any questions you might have!!

    Warmest regards
