A .308 drum mag? nice! I guess it is neutered though...
I was planning on going shooting today but torrential rain kept me at home with the honey-do list.

A bit of a necro thread revival, I'm wondering how those who have bought the rifle think about it now? Is anyone running a reverse fake can/ linear suppressor? If so, do they find redirecting the exhaust gas forward beneficial to the shooter? Does it build up heat anymore than normal?
TIA

Mine is stock so I cannot answer about the fake suppressor. The T7 has more of a thump than the Ruger precision or the Mossberg MVP rifle I found which is odd since the T7 is a heavy semi auto. I don't find it gets "hot" it is reasonable.

I don't have a linear muzzle device on my T7. I did on my 11.5" AR, loved it.
I think I will try one on the T7 this year. Having all the blast go downrange lessens the sound impact. Psychologically it makes it seem like there is less recoil.
The T7 does have a thump to it - easily controlled though. Perhaps the design having you nestled into the rifle makes your body perceive the recoil more. But it also allows more / easier control than say an AR10.
Great weapon. Luv it. Just wish it was O.D green not black

There's a tavor 7 on Williams arms site. Used, under 3k. Someone should grab it before I give in.

Tavor 7's are very nice guns but terrible to shoot without good hearing protection. This makes them a bit impractical as a defensive or hunting gun without good hearing protection on which means you can hear the prey or what is going on around you.
I tried a friends one at a range recently with only a pair of cheaper hearing protection on and the sound was deafening from the bench. The end of the barrel is too close to the shooter. Other bench shooters nearby also found it extremely loud.
Maybe it was because of the tin range roof and how the end of the barrel was not past the end of the bench like with most other rifles or it could have been because of the aggressive working muzzle brake he installed to cut back on the sharp recoil pulse it delivers even with the brake on was a bit aggressive. But it was surprising how loud it was for a .308 and I have shot plenty of 18" barrel .308's before too that didn't sound so loud but the end of the barrel was further away from me too.
It was like day and night compared to shooting a FAL for noise.
