Help With Value Of A M1 Garand

A friend has this M1 Garand and he wants to sell it.
He acquired it quite a few years ago and has never fired it.
I stripped it and the internals look like new. Any idea what it would be worth?
The bore is in excellent condition.

    Thanks In Advance!

Last month a Garand showed up at my local gun shop.

$2700 plus tax and it flew out the door in a couple of days.

I haven’t seen one on offer for less than $2k for a while. I’d say full retail for a mixmaster in decent shape starts somewhere around there these days. There’s all sorts of variables to drive up the price from there. Joe Salter has/had a single digit serial # Beretta that they’re asking about $5000 for.

Nice looking rifle. American receiver a plus. Lockbar rear sight another plus but might be sold to someone looking for something to bring a early build back to 'original' . The Danish anchor sight spring might be better replaced with an unmarked one. Garands in decent shape will sell for $2700.00 easy.
