    Anyone Collect Militaria?

Anyone here collect military vehicles, kit, uniforms, blades, deactivated SMGs and the like? I've always been interested but don't have much of a collection, just a couple pieces.

Show em if you got em!

Here's my 1944 Mark III 'Turtle' helmet with Canadian two tone net and 1944 dated Canadian shell dressing.

Odds and ends other than a fair handful of old military rifles. I’ve got a 1950’s issue Canadian helmet around somewhere, very similar to the American helmets of WWII. Some cartridges, a 1917 dated .303, 1944 German 9mm, a WWII dated 20mm anti aircraft round. Bunch of pouches and other minor kit.

I might have you beat on the depot. Not in firearms, but enough green stuff that I need a selling partner…

Add in my extensive inventory of general work “smalls”, radios, etc and it appears I need an E-tailor.

I've got 2 a-synchronous electric motors out of a B-17 bomber. The original plan was to put one on a rotatable antenna and have the other inside the house. I decided that rather than use them for that, I'd just keep them for nostalgia. I've also got 2 old military style gas cans. One is stamped 1944. The other one is pretty much the same thing, but not stampled. There's other stuff around here too that I'm forgetting about.

I have some small (3.5") Imperial wrenches with the broad arrow stamp, some old pamphlets from WW2 "Know How To Use Enemy Weapons", and a small manual (about 4" x 5.5") with a canvas cover: "Small Arms Manual" by LT. Col. JA Barlow S.A.C, and Major R.E.W. Johnson, from 1942. Inside the cover is my Dad's name, rank (Cpl, crossed out and rewritten Sgt, with his service number, and address in Toronto.

Apparently there are still many undiscovered caches from WWII and onward scattered around Europe. Maybe you can join the Polish group that tries to specialize in finding tanks. They consider amm9 and weapon caches chump change. Freeing serviceable condition, btw…

You're just as likely to catch an MG42 as you are a fish when you cast a line into practically any body of water here. Every old house seems to have some weapons or ammunition hidden in it, and every week there is another report of people refurbishing some old home and finding some cache...

of course the Police and government are really anal about these things, and consider some rusty old mauser, with most of the stock rotten off, the same as a gun in a normal condition.
