    Night Vision Trend and Availability

If there is one thing I've noticed I the last 5 years is the number of individuals getting into the night vision game down South of the border. While I know we a plagued by export restrictions it seems individuals are starting to show interest up here. Personally, I'm really excited and can't wait to get my hands on a PVS-14 as I pre-emptively bought a DBAL.

I know that practical application in terms of hunting is limited, it's all provincial regulation that limits this and changeable. I also know there is a difference between pest control and hunting, the former typically being permitted at night.

Ya really, they allow night raccoon hunting with a special licence and special course like turkey

One area in southwestern ontario where i hunt yotes a night shift would rock, iv called them back in at night no problem after shootin them all day. There is just so many

With a education course i think it would be ok, more yotes around then coons, and a coon aint to hard to find during the day too.

With manditory supressor and night vision of course

That would double my yote time on weekend trips, id pay for that

I have a personal sweet spot for NV gear. Looking at some really neat stuff in the next 3-6 months.

Is your dbal IR capable? I'd love to take my NVD off my rifle and start helmet mounting it with a laser instead of a red-dot for the aiming point.

On a farm, with night vision doing pest control on a scouted out spot.
the wild still lingered in him and the wolf in him merely slept

That's awesome MPH! What sort of power did you get? I'm looking at a laser/illuminator for myself this summer. Right now they only offer Class 1, but I'd like something a bit stronger.

Class 1, for 99% of your needs it should do it for you.

Picking up a S&S Manta Strobe off a friend at some point over the next couple of weeks, then gonna need to save some coin for a Wilcox L4 G24 Mount hopefully in FDE if I can find one that hasn't gone to a SOCOM contract. Hopefully I can then also squander enough money away over the Summer for a PVS14.
