    .204 ruger

I have been secretly playing with the idea of building a dedicated coyote/fox rifle for a while in the back of my mind. .204 ruger what y'all think? I was thinking maybe going tikka heavy barrel. I want something with range a tack driver and i want speed! This idea in my head started with a .17rem and now that i thought long and hard i have convinced myself on the .204. Is there a con. To this caliber? Optic suggestion?

I have a Savage in .204 that does some coyote duty. Haven't done any load dev yet as it shoots the factory Hornady 40 grain ammo so well. When that once cheap ammo is used up I'll have to get busy with it.

Ammo, camo and things that go "blammo".

I have a 20 cal wildcat that is lights out on coyotes with 40 or 55 grain Bergers. A buddy has one, the first year he had it he took 75 dogs (some were trapped to be fair) in the first winter. His fur buyer was pleased with the little amount of pelt damage. My heavy barrel shoots moa at 400 yards. My local range only goes to 400 so don’t onow performance beyond that.
