That pic went around a few years ago. I haven't found the original source.

I haven't been out at all this year. My freezer is empty. I'm sad and hungry.

Went to the local head show back home last Saturday. Some real beauties, but a few racks less than most years.

A 15 year old kid won the youth group and best typical with those 9.5” and 10.5” brow times. 153 inches overall IIRC. There was a gorgeous 168 that took the best non-typical, and a 163” 6x6 that wasn’t eligible because the owner didn’t have a club membership. Friend’s daughter took the #2 youth spot with the one I posted earlier.

How did they all get their heads back already?
Or do you not need to send them in for testing in your area?

There is a way to take your own samples from a kit that can be provided to you, alt least here in Alberta. This saves you from having to submit an award winning deer head you want to have mounted.

Gun club might put on a presentation on how to use the kit properly: they did a poll on the last newsletter.

All along Grant, that basically goes through the Assiniboine forest, is basically a deer slaughterhouse.

The biggest buck I have ever seen with a gun in my hand was between my back door and Dad's truck as I was loading up to go drive 2 hours to go deer hunting.
Every evening we had 30+ deer go through the yard in Charleswood.
All winter I'd give the crabapple a shake every trip out to the shop, the little guys really appreciated it.
I always had serious thoughts about leaving a trail of oats leading into the garage...
