Lots of their guns are in the "Bargain Cave".

Lol. Me and Cabela's have a long-standing disagreement on the definition of "bargain".

Ammo, camo and things that go "blammo".

In the Cabela's closest to Camo Tung and I, the "bargain cave" has been the "camo clothing" room for a couple of years now. I haven't been to the one in the west end of Edmonton for a couple of years now. Camo....do they still have a "bargain cave" in that one ?

Last I was there they did, complete with their fancy cabinets holding old relics that were used to beat off a vicious beaver attack during the fur trade.

Wow- it's a real thing. I just assumed that was the online store's cutesy name for whatever they're trying to dump.

It’s their area for returns, close outs, etc. Fully random, in store heavily discounted. If you can make it some of their original stores, it’s usually a few big aisle.

Not sure what Airdrie has, but it started as Bass Pro.

‘Bargain Cave’ in Winnipeg was moved to a staff training area near the exit, while the former cave holds hunting clothing. Bargains have gone downhill since Bass Pro took the reins, and never were as good as Wholesale Sports used to have. The 40% off .257 Vanguard and 50% off Under Armour hunting suit are still some of my best buys ever.

‘Bargain’ guns and ammo were always kept at the gun counter, I notice there’s some discount areas scattered throughout the store now too, usually in the deepest, darkest corners of their respective departments.

A hunting buddy got a screaming deal on a bargain cave 20’ Alaknak tent that suffered from an employee putting a decimal point in the wrong spot. Said he left the store like the woman in the IKEA commercials, screaming for his wife to start the truck….

I picked up a Lee Loader in 45-70 for $49.00 (plus GST) last night at the Cabelas north Edmonton. I found it behind a bunch of crap in a pile.

    I feel lucky!

I have felt completely underwhelmed every time I walked through the bargain cave in any cabelas I've been in that had one.
Online the best deal I ever saw was them blowing out .17 hornet mags for my walking varminter for $5 each, but the only store I found stock in was in Ontario and they wouldn't ship them as they were sold out online.
