OTOKIAKS Spring hunting ... pictures of last weekend.

Well i finally got outland to do some hunting after being BEYOND busy with work all over lately. I went outland with 3 other lads and we caught 6 tuktu(caribou), 2 Umingmak(muskox) and 1 Amaruq(wolf) between us all. I personally only wanted a muskox, the rest caught the other animals. Weather permitting I'm planning on going outland again to find some tuktu(caribou), hopefully wolves and possibly wolverine. Hope you like the pics as my digicam froze up I used my shotty cellphone and we did approx 150plus mile circuit and camped out for 2 days. Cheers,

Looks cold. ....and fun. Good on 'ya! What would a musk ox dress out at?
Don't blame me, I didn't vote for 'em.

Muskox are like small cows and I shot a wee one and Joseph got one a lil bigger. Meat get's divided up with the lads and family so it doesn't last long ... personally I love keeping the tenderloin and some roast from the rear and inner loins. I shot mine thru the heart one shot, Joseph the same ... the bloody heads is from tying the back legs to your skidoo and towing them couple hundred yards back to our qamutiqs(wood sled) as they bled thru the mouth. It was approx -4 all weekend so really it was WARM for us ... HAHA! The meat in the frying pan was caribou we just caught.

Looks like you guys had a good time. Congrats on another successful hunt. One thing I see in the pics that caught my attention. You guys really do build those stacked stone things...yea..I know there's a proper name for them, but it escapes me now. I always kind of figured that was something that somebody dumb lost white guy came across one of one time, and Hollywood took over from there. LOL. Make sure you shoot me a PM the next time you're coming to town. This time dinner is on me.

Look around is there someone you can introduce to shooting because thatís the only way we will buck the anti gun trend sweeping Canada! "tigrr 2006"

Just don't ever try canned cariboo it tastes like nothing on this earth.
Close enough. I showed my 12 year old the pics, and he immediately gave me a history lesson on them. LOL. Older doesn't always mean wiser.
