    The Great Scotch Thread

I've all but given up beer these days in favor of scotch. The odd time I drink beer, it's usually something rich and eccentric like Innis & Gunn. I'm not one to get drunk (odd words coming from a 24 year old male eh?), and greatly prefer the slow pace and rich flavors that scotch has.

I currently have two bottles in the cabinet, a Highland Park 15 and a Chivas Regal 12. Both are quite good, though I prefer the Highland Park. I find it goes along very nicely with the Amarretto tobacco I have for my pipe.

Who else enjoys scotch and what are you drinking?
I'd rather make a difference than a dollar.

    Glenfiddich: 15, Snow Phoenix
The Arran Malt: Sauternes Cask, Port Cask

I'm out of the 15 at the moment and I just picked up the Port Cask last weekend. The Sauternes is more to my typical liking but the Port is also very good. I like it better than the 15 taste wise, but it's a touch sweeter which I don't like. As for the Snow Phoenix, I'm still kicking myself for not picking up an extra bottle when I had the chance.

I have a number of bottles of scotch, but the 18 year old Macallan has to be my favorite. It pairs well with a nice cigar - R&J No 2 is my go to there.

I usually grab an Islay. The more smoke and peat, the better. Laphroaig, Smokehead, Lagavulin, etc.
My shelf is empty right now, though.
