OP - Have you considered the Aimpoint Micro and the PRO for your Tavor?

I decided to pull the trigger and go for a Hensoldt RSA. They are on sale at www.tacticalimports.ca for $499. I guess this is the last batch being brought in and if It's good enough for the German military, It's good enough for me. It auto adjusts for brightness with a manuel override and switches from battery to solar cell when enough light is available. Anyone have one or know anyone who does that could give me a bit more information? I just ordered it so I'll probably put up a quick review when it arrives.

I was going to order one, but didn't like the mount that TI offered them with (it's pretty big for the size of the mount), but in the event you decide to change your co-witness set up you may have to find another mounting solution.

There's quite a few owners on the other forum as TI sold lots of them, so I'm sure a few of them would be able to chime in here as well.

Suffice to say that Hensoldt produces excellent products!

I liked my Hensoldt a lot! Great little red-dot, and solar panels on optics generally strike me as a good investment:

My RSA came in Friday and I am very impressed with it. With the supplied riser it co-witnesses PERFECTLY with the Tavors built in iron sights. To do a quick sight in all I had to do was throw up the irons and line the dot up with the sights. I took it out Saturday for a hike and it was pretty close to being bang on. I have tried various optic setups over the past 8 months and this is by far my favorite so I think my search is over. One of my favorite design features is the the diode is built directly into the glass, the tube is so clean and theres no diode housing creeping on the side. Can't wait to shoot with it next weekend so I can tune it right in. Very happy with this optic.

How about a little gun porn to cheer everyone up from this weeks..."events"....

Can the Mepro 21 take co-witnesses?

The shooting I will be doing will be from 0-300m so I need an accurate reticle for further engagements and a relatively quick acquisition of the reticle for closer targets. I have heard that the "X" reticle on the Mepro 21 is accurate because you don't cover your target with the light you just center it within the X. The Eotech also has the 1moa dot which would be nice for longer range also. Of course the Mepro 21 has no batteries so thats a pro and it just looks right on the Tavor. Let me know what you think. I'm torn between the two.

    Or...

I favor the EOTech because I like the square sight picture, gives me a better field of view.

Never used a Mepro 21 so no comment....

I have been leaning Towards A MEPRO 21 . $450 is a good deal. $200+ cheaper than H1 with mount. About $100 leas than an EoTech. My eyes don;t like the hazy circle they display

Only cheaper option would be the Vortex SPark II @ $240

Anyone else want to chime in.

Watched a video of the M21 being soaked, dropped and thrown/skipped down a range. And it held up fine.
You can see IDF pics of these sights with the paint worn off.

    Leaning more heavily towards them.

I like the SpectreOS 4x as well, but $1200 is more of 6 months from now purchase.

Sorry about the necro-bump, but did you end up with an M21?

They've gone up in price quite a bit since this thread was going on -- $599 now, but the Eotech EXPS is also quite high... up to $899 for the EXPS3
