Take him shooting with the bullets that you made with the wheel weights from his shop. Might give him a little extra motivation to save them for you!

J...grab every single lead wheel weight that you can. Non of the manufactures that I know of are shipping their cars with lead wheel weights. They're going extinct, and you won't like the price of buying alloyed lead from a metal supplier.

I was just chucking them in the scrap bin at work. Of course now, after cursing the darned zinc ones for years, I need a few pounds. Do me a favour...if you can get your hands on some, set them aside for me. I want to make up a few zinc anodes for my outboard motors (think sacrificial corrosion). The shape I need it just a rectangle with a hole in it the middle...easy to make. No sense buying them when I have the skill to make them for nothing. Normmus...if you have a few still laying around, hold onto them for me please.

Ok guys. I'm FINALLY starting a bullet casting tutorial today. We're going to shoot some video and pics for you, and I'll do a write up as well. I don't have all weekend to sit in a dark room and put it all together, but I'll get it done as soon as I can. Stay tuned !

Nice post. Out of curiosity, any idea of the hardness numbers of the hard and soft leads you cast?

I did test them, but I honestly can't remember. Jon might remember...I tested a bar he had against mine with a Lee hardness tester. I'll have to get back to you on that.
