I have a stack-on 8 gun safe with a manual combination lock. It holds 5 rifles ok, but I have to be careful not to beat them together going in and out. I also bought the stack-on 8 gun cabinet, when it was on sale for $99, that I built shelves for and store my Ammo and powder in.
Like Linung said, buy bigger than you think you need, you will be surprised how soon you will run out of space.

I thank you all for your responses.

Are people using cabinets to store restricted and non restricted firearms?
If yes, how legal is it?

trigger lock on non-res, should be the same for restricted if the cabinet is locked.

Ive been using cabinets since I got my license, almost 20 years ago. Restricted just got trigger locks on them, NR are just in socks. Both are bolted to a wall stud.

As it is written in the RPAL instructors book "A restricted firearm may be stored, only if it meets the following conditions:
    It is unloaded and
1 Rendered inoperable by using a secure locking device and stored in a securely locked container, receptacle or room that cannot be easily broken open.
2 Stored in a securely locked vault, safe or room specifically built for secure storage of restricted firearms

then it goes on about the storage of ammo for the restricted firearm.

I would like to thank everyone for their suggestions and insights.
You all have helped me make an informed decision.

I am very Happy to inform you all that I have bought the Stack-On 8 Gun Cabinet . It was a sweet deal with 45% off at Canadian tire. Below is the link for your reference.

Thanks again. You all have a great weekend.

Late to the party. I bought a stack on 14 gun....about 12 years ago Green one - not a bad size. 16x21x55. I just use it for ammo (6000rnds+), mags(60+), optics and accessories. That stuff adds up $$$$$. Actual Safe is from Costco, roughly the same size maybe about 6" taller and deeper. Can't compare pricing as everything was cheaper 'Back in the day' but it was around $300.

With recent purchases I am out of room, I need a new safe now.... oh well. Safe is full and I have to find a room for 6 more.

And if anyone whats a 14-gun steel cabinet TSC stores has one for 1/2 price. CABINET $199
