I keep wanting to buy a at restricted, but I will never be able to take one out and shoot it because the closest open range I have requires a gun club membership to use restricted guns. Why in the world is this stupid rule in place. I just wanna buy a pistol and shoot it already!

Didn’t they go over this at your RPAL course? No transport or transfers from the CFO unless you have a current club membership somewhere. Unless you want to try for collector status which is a whole other can of worms.

I'm confused by how you can use a range but not be a member of it.
I don't know what happens elsewhere, but there is nothing to an ATT for me because the rifle association and the cfo takes care of it all.
All I have to do is show up to shoot.

Liberty is not a thing for the great masses of men. It is the exclusive possession of a small and disreputable minority, like knowledge, courage and honor. It takes a special sort of man to understand and enjoy liberty — and he is usually an outlaw in democratic societies. - H.L. Mencken

Ontario CFO doesn't require a club membership for restricted transfers/ownership. Since there are many rent a ranges, and day pass ranges. We been trying to get the NS CFO to follow. Since there are 3 ranges that you can walk in and rent a BAY. But they still require you to have a club membership for them to even approve a transfer.
