The other thing to try is to keep it light and fun. 22Plinkster just doesn't make you think of anything bad.

On the other hand, I've met a couple vegetarian shooters. Enemies to hunters, farmers, and civilized folk, they were hard to tolerate.

I’m not sure what you mean by that. People who are anti personal gun ownership are usually the first to say “Only the police and military should have...”.

Only a super small percentage of people are so far off the deep end that they don’t even want police or military to have them. I’m sorry if I phrased it wrong, I meant anti-personal ownership.

Like most antis, though, I wasn’t active about it, and I never thought about it at all, really, but if you asked me questions at the time, I would have given dumb answers because I’d never been exposed to guns and I didn’t know anything.

I know one. But he hunts and gives the meat away.

I also know pro gun people that are anti hunting. Don't much care for them.
Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.

It's not what we choose to do with our guns; it's really all about having the ability to choose to do something with a gun that should unify us not divide us as gun owners.

Perhaps not all of us are idiots. The rest are deluded, morons, imbeciles, feeble minded, possessing mental subnormality, or using their above average IQs massively suboptimally.

For some reason he can't eat meat. But he loves to hunt and shoot. So he gives the meat away. I see no harm.

I know a vegetarian that will eat wild game. She doesn't like farms, but she's ok with an animal that was free and happy right until it died.

There was a good Joe Rogan podcast about 1-2 years ago that had a hardcore vegan guest change his mind in the same way. Can't look for it now, but it was a good chat on how it was actually the modern farming system that caused him grief, and over time he came to the same conclusion your friend did, which is that hunting was practically guilt free.

Ironically, it's usually the most spectacular cases of trophy hunting that go bad in the media, but they're almost always old animals causing grief to and bullying the other animals, and it helps the species to get rid of that one animal.
