My name is CJ - I work in public relations and outreach for the Canadian firearms industry. I want to work with the community, people like yourselves to let people know that Canadian gun owners are not criminals!

Please LIKE and SHARE my social media information with your friends and groups. The stronger our social media presence, the greater chance of success with future campaigns slated to start in October.

Media Engagement 2016:

Metro News (estimated readership: 200,000+)

This is a very important time for us as a community - lets work together in creating a future we want.

Thanks for the support and feel free to reach out to me at anytime to discuss topics, issues, and solutions.

My best,
CJ Summers
Director of Public Outreach

What is a director of outreach for the Canadian firearms industry?

There are no authors associated with those articles on imigur.

Forgive my skepticism, but something smells a bit fishy here. Who writes you paycheck most specifically?

Calm down. This i believe is the young gentleman who recently joined calibre magazine. Remove tin foil hat. He managed to get some coverage in Metro news in BC. He is legit.

Thanks triq -

I appreciate the support.

You are correct, I joined Calibre recently - I am loving every minute of it. If soulchaser and Hillbillyreefer need more convincing, I can connect you with 20+ Canadian business that will endorse me. I can appreciate their skepticism, years of being attacked by the media will do that do you - but I am here to do everything I can to change the discussion around firearms in Canada. We as a community exist. Let's educate the public on more than just, "hey it was not us."

Reading the articles you linked to, they are certainly the kind of reading we need more of, if we are to stop the demonization of gun owners.

Thank you for doing this work. How can we help?

I can appreciate their skepticism, years of being attacked by the media will do that do you -

The skepticism is due in part to a famous CGN story of "Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me"
Back in 2007, Glen McGregor represented himself as a balanced reporter with pro-freedom leanings, and CGNers flocked to give him information, about 99% of it positive.
He published a series in the Ottawa Citizen called Rapid Fire, over several days, with titles like "Kimveer Gill's Gun. Australian example and confiscate semiautomatic rifles.", "Firearm Dads. In your suburb", "Loopholes in the Law and Military Style Weapons", "Uzis Among Us", "Hot Irons. Every year thousands of legally registered guns are stolen and end up in the hands of criminals. The list of stolen guns includes the deadliest military style firearms ever made."
CGNers ended up calling him a, well, a long series of nasty names.

What an a**hole.

You will see from my past work, and a campaign starting in a few days - that I am not like Glen McGregor.

Keep an eye out for a campaign that will start in October - it will run beside the province wide amnesty pushed by the government to destroy firearms.

I am incredibly excited to work with you TJ - drop me an email at [email protected], the more individuals and organizations I directly work with in the firearms community the better.

Also, if you could share and follow my Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/CJJSumm that would be awesome. I am always available on that platform, I want that page to act as a meeting place to discuss engagement initiatives. I will need the help and support of all those in the community to make this drive successful - I can't wait.
