How to not post youtube videos

Is there a way to just do a URL to a youtube,
    without embedding the youtube?

    i.e. link only.

How to not post youtube videos

Try something like emailing the link to yourself first and copy and paste the link from your email to the thread. This may work. It's worth a try. Good luck

Hit share under the video, and paste that link here.

To circumvent the automatic embedding, add the URL tags. When you post a video link, the software detects it and adds the VIDEO tags.

        this

        HTML Code:
        [url]http://youtu.be/dwcRRbRjdK8[/url]
        instead of

        HTML Code:
        [video=youtube_share;dwcRRbRjdK8]http://youtu.be/dwcRRbRjdK8[/video]

Below are both using awndray's technique, neither of which work as advertised.
(which you can verify if you use a "reply with quote" to see exactly what I've put here. Neither of which are what I want, namely link only.)

I note that awndray's technique works on every other bbcode compatible forum I've used for years.

          Namely

          [ url = ht tps : / / w ww . youtube . com / watch ? v = sFMUeUErYVg ] test [ / url ]

          [ url ] ht tps : / / w ww . youtube . com / watch ? v = sFMUeUErYVg [ / url ]

          test

I'm sure it used to work. I just tried again with the long and the short URLs. Apparently it doesn't work anymore. Weird.

                Like so?

I copied the video URL, and pasted it in "Link"? The globe with the infinity symbol.

Yep. Did that. Maybe because your link has the ?feature option?

Here's the one from post #5, "The Truth About Gun Control"?

I think you all need a 5 year old Gateway laptop to enable this feature.

Yeah. Sticking "feature=player_detailpage" into the URL works.
