The following is just my opinion, but I consider this new employment of "The Following User Liked This Post..." pseudo-posts to be both annoying and ridiculous. Pseudo-posts do not improve this forum.

That feature will not be changed.

What about just displaying the number of likes?
I find the box with that info breaks up the flow of the thread.
There doesn't need to be a name attached to it unless you wish to click the number next to the likes. Just like another popular SM site.
Why can't it be changed if it proves to be unpopular?

The feature was requested by both owners and many members. The function is not customizable to be like Facebook. The forum itself is a different platform and although features can be added they will not be exactly the same.
We always take in advice from our members but this is a new feature long requested so it will be here for a bit.

Do you think it actually takes away from the forum? I mean does it bother your or the like?Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

This is much better.
Actually, on another board they have the like/thank button, but it comes up in your notifications when someone likes it. It's actually kind of a nice way to carry on a conversation, you can ask a question and not need to hope they come back to the thread or PM them.
One thing that's nice about it, in the profile under the avatar, it shows how many likes under how many posts.
I think it is a better mark of "credibilty" than post count.
There are some guys with 200 posts but 600 likes.
Much different than some that have 3266 post that just piss off the populace.
Hey wait, I see some pink!Don't blame me, I didn't vote for that clown. Oct 20, '15
I didn't vote for that Mr. Burns clown either. Apr 28, '25

If you're going to offer a "Like this" option maybe you should also offer a "Don't like this" and/or a "Not sure about this" option too.
Either way, WTF would the rest of us care about your feelings about the post?
