    Posting Youtube vids....paging harbl?

    Help?

I'm trying to embed youtube URLs, but I keep getting the "short" version (with an https and youtu.be) which vBulletin doesn't seem to like. How do I get the old longer URLs?

Is this a GOC troubleshooting question? Or am I missing something? Google is no help, so far....

Open the video in another window/tab.

Right click on the actual video (on the "movie screen"), a drop down will appear, left click "get video URL".

The URL will appear in a box in the middle of the video, left click and copy the code.

Return here, click the movie film icon (second from right in the mini tool bar), paste the code in there, click Okay and it's done.

Go to youtube, go to the page for the video you want to imbed - copy the address from your browser address bar, come here, press the 'video' insert button, paste the url. Should be fine

Leave some well used bibles scattered around so youtube knows you mean business.
And for heavens sake close the wikipedia article on buddhism.

This what I've been doing for a while now, but the URL it spits up just gives me a link now instead of an embedded video...weird. https instead of http, and a "." in the middle of the word youtube...ah! Like the linked video I just put under your quoted Sean Connery comment in the volcano thread.

This makes sense, I will try this, thanks.

This makes even more sense, and I will do this if I ever stage my house for youtube.

Yep, Foxer's suggestion worked...now I'm left with the eternal question of why Google/Youtube/IE/Chrome/FireFox decided to monkey this up for me in the first place...

I think I do them here like this:

To embed the video in a post, remove the spaces:
              [ video ] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OnsYHERmPoE [ /video ]

To start a video at a particular time, via showing it from www.youtube.com , remove the spaces:
              [ url ] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OnsYHERmPoE#t=155 [ /url ]

              Elsewhere you can do this
              [ youtube ] OnsYHERmPoE [ /youtube ]

Maybe it's you. Maybe it's youtube. Maybe it's a hardware issue, which brings us back to you:
