    Forum Slow

The forum was a little slow March 5 (things that normally take 1 second, take 2 seconds)
but the past few hours March 6 3am toronto time, it's been very slow (things that normally take 1 second, take 1 minute, sometimes more sometimes less)

Seems better now. Not the fastest it's ever been, but quite usable.

Forum is extremely slow: taking minutes to load pages, often loading them incorrectly. Most of the other sites I visit are problem-free, but a few act like this site.

Sometimes, I get a notice that I can't connect because Safari can't find a secure connection to the GOC server.

Hmm it's working fine here in Ont. on the Linux box

                No issues here.

Ammo, camo and things that go "blammo".

Forum still running extremely slow: took a minute to load a page... any page. This all began Friday night, with a handful of sites that run like molasses, yet most sites run just fine.

GOC, Protonmail, True North, all take a minute to load a page. So it's not my computer or modem, unlikely to be my provider (Telus).

Any ideas? Because this forum is effectively unusable for me.

GoC is running at a decent speed for me. Opening new threads under 1 second.
Goc Search is a little slower than normal, but still easily useable.

EDIT: Posting this post took a little over 1 second.

                        Very strange.
What browser are you using? Have you tried another?

go to testmy.net and run the upload and download tests together, check connection latency.
Have you tried restarting your modem\router ?

Internet upload/download speeds seem normal, no idea what "latency" means. Restarted the modem/router- no change.

However: everything works fine when I use the Gab browser "Dissenter", but Safari is my normal browser. Now I have to get used to opening a second browser, and have to figure out how to save bookmarks to it.

edited to add: thank you Macds for that suggestion. I wouldn't have thought of that.

When you ignore history, you become its next example.

It is easier to control the lawful than to confront the lawless, history is full of governments that chose the wrong one.

If the past teaches anything, it is those who ask to be trusted with power often fear those who carry it themselves.

I just realized that this crap began after I got a pop-up notice that Flash was no longer supported, and it was highly recommended that I remove it.

I did so, not seeing any harm, as I rarely use Flash, and have been getting many notices about it's demise.

Clearing History and caches made no difference. Right now I'm using Dissenter... and may have to make that my default browser.
