how to delete my account here?

Just like the title suggests, I've been trying to find a way to delete my account here, but I don't see anything on My Profile or on Settings, anyone know how do I do this aside from breaking forum rules?

Any reason you can’t just log out and not come back?

Or is it want of a different name?

Management has disabled accounts on request in the past, that’s about as far as it goes. Posts remain.

          You make a good point.

Just a bit surprised that the delete account functionality doesn't seem to exist here, one would expect such a basic functionality to exist here.

Sometimes circumstances changes in ones life, freedom of choice should also be afforded to individuals who want to delete their account.

It is what the community strives for after all.

I hate not having the option to delete, including posts. Very few forums offer the option. I wish they all did. Moons ago, when I was naive and uninformed, I subscribed to many forums just to get access to information that I late discovered was complete garbage.

Your best bet is to logon and obfuscate your profile info - change the associated email address with one from a random generator, change the password, forget it and logoff. Unfortunately, that doesn't delete the posts. If you have few posts, you can go edit them all, and delete the content. But that doesn't delete the quoted posts other make. And if you have many posts, you'll be spending far too much time on that task. It's the downside of many forums.

Make some disingenuous remarks about a few of the moderators and see how that works..............lol !!!

According to law (PIPEDA) GOC has to delete someone's account when they request it.

How do I contact CGN and verify my account when I'm blocked?
If it's illegal to say, it's true.
If it's illegal to doubt, it's false.
If it violates the Human Rights Code, it's a prudent practice.
