Maybe prevent searches for guests. It just bogs down the site.

Is Ninja Bot surveying GunOwnersOfCanada for ideas?

Years ago BlackSmithDen posted that in a pinch he turned his toaster on the side to re-heat pizza.

        And now it's a thing...

That's probably only because Harbl is keeping them so busy with his constant ChatGPT use and inquiries that they don't have the time to bug us anymore.

Yep, something didn't go smoothly in GOC's transition.
On CGN, the only characters that are allowed in titles are : ([a-zA-Z0-9:.,$%!?'-+/ ])

By way of example ' is fine, but ‘ and ’ are not.

Lots of newspaper article titles contain such characters. When I copy/paste those titles here at GoC they copy just fine. When I copy/paste those titles at CGN it often takes me a couple tries to get the title into characters that CGN will accept.

I suspect that GoC has run into the same problem.

The "two spies" thread title and Strangeday's first post statement have done it as well.

Interesting. I tested a few different combos and it didn't get scrambled.

                    Will keep looking.

*EDIT* seems that the code is being misinterpreted as UTF-8 and we are using Western ISO.

Ill keep digging. I am assuming the thread was fine when posted?

IMO guests being able to see a certain amount of posts is ok. I think this because when I first started getting involved in the community I would search google for different things [for example m14/305 info] and would find posts here or CGN that I was able to read through. At CGN it forced me to sign up if I wanted to search the site directly or see new posts etc. I think it is detrimental [for noobs] to not be able to find us so perhaps a full "lockdown" is not the way to go.
