GOC is a semi-private discussion board. Merchant and Dealer forums are public. All other discussions are private and restricted to registered users only for privacy reasons.
Basically
a) smart quotes (double and single)
b) hyphens
c) french characters
all get converted to "?"
The workaround is to do what I did in the linked thread. Replace smart quotes with simple quotes, replace hyphens with double dash, replace accented letters with their unaccented equivalents.
This happens most often when copy/pasting news articles.

This site has turned into an echo chamber for the few of us that remain. I get the occasional nugget of wealth here, but for the most part, it's rarely anything firearms related.

I left "Justice Marie-Jos?e Hogue" without fixing it.
